Little Italy (Click here for Photos)

The plan for the evening was to have a quick dinner and then head for counter strike at 8pm. But as what nature would have it, the dining place was changed countless of time, from Kayu Nasi Kandar to hawker food to japanese food and finally, after some deliberating, settle for Italian food. Little Italy came into mind as this is one of the closest restaurant to Bukit Jambul Complex where we will head later for Counter Strike. The restaurant had not change since our last visit there, except for some new waiters. The menu had not changed either. I have invited Terran and Kairi (from Shanghai) to join us for Counter Strike, and this is their first time they see the other side of this wild group apart from work. I had the set dinner, which is a half chicken in some kind of spice. It was serve with rice...yuck... rice does not goes well with italian food... dont know why, just done like it... Chicken was nice, except for a little spicy hot. The set meal started off with garlic bread and mushroom soup. The soup was surprisingly rich with mushroom. Then the chicken served with rice and to wash it down, lime juice. They were a little short in sugar there, imagine the taste..And for dessert, a nice cup of hot chocolet, this is the only thing that I really enjoyed...

Soho Free House (Click here for photos)

There are 2 Soho's in town, Soho Free House and Soho Beach House. This is one of my favourite place as it brings back memories of my time in UK. This is a british pub manage by a malaysian chinese who have stayed in Soho, London for many many years. Like any british pub, they have a wide range of beers on the tab, my fav here is Kilkenny Draught, and they serve pub food for a very resonable price. Loved the lamb here.

Yataimura July 30, 2002 (Click here for photos)

Yataimura is a Japanese noodle shop porpular for its ramen. The environment is also very condusive where you have waiters dressed in japanese robe, wooden furnitures and best of all, non-stop Japanese pop songs. There are also comics and megazines for you to kill time. This is one of the favourite place of Zing where she will get the group to visit here every chance she gets. This is the second visit of the week by the way.

New Lane July 23, 2002 (Click here for photos)

New Lane is a Penang Local food heaven, and it has been long since we came here. I particularly like the 'seafood Char Koay Kak' or rather seafood fried carrot cake. This shop is not open all the time and his opening times are not regular. Maybe he has already earn enough that he will just do business as he please. There are many other local favourite here, including Batu Maung Satay where the Satay is cooked with it's source... yummy yummy...

Fruitless Ferringi (Click here for Photos)

What an amusing evening. We starterd out to go to ferringi to purchase some CD's, when we got there, CD stalls were everwhere. By the time we got our car nicely parked, we found that all the CD stalls are gone. In just a split second, they have packed and left. Apparently there was a raid and we hang around for a few minutes and decided to go to Soho Beach House for some drinks. When we got our car out, we found that the CD stalls are back in business... It looks like fate deliberately stop us from purchasing CD's that evening, thus we decided to not buy CD that evening and just lazed at Soho...
